Where will my proceedings be indexed?
Every paper is published on proceedings.science, the open-access repository where Galoá hosts more than 169,000 papers, and exposed over OAI-PMH so indexing services and institutional harvesters can collect the metadata at the source. Authorship connects to ORCID, so each contribution stays attached to the researcher's permanent identity instead of a name string. If your committee contracts DOI registration, the metadata also goes to Crossref and becomes available to any citation index or research tool that consumes the Crossref API. The point of all three is the same: getting the papers your community produced in front of the international databases it actually reads.
Can we migrate proceedings from previous editions?
Yes. Galoá's team migrates proceedings from previous editions, including legacy PDF archives, into the same indexed and citable repository as new editions. ABEP, for example, brought 50 years of conference proceedings — back to the association's 1976 founding — into a single open-access library with Crossref metadata applied where the source records support it.
Are proceedings published as open access?
Open access is the default: anyone can read and download the papers without a paywall, which is what gives the work your community produced its citation potential and reach. If your association needs part of the collection kept for members, the platform supports that as well, so you can hold specific editions or tracks behind membership while everything else stays open.
Do reviewers and authors get persistent academic credit for their work?
Yes. As an ORCID Institutional Member, Galoá pushes verified peer review credits to reviewers' ORCID profiles and validated authorship records to authors' ORCID profiles automatically, with no manual entry from your scientific committee. This eliminates the J. Smith disambiguation problem and ensures every researcher's contribution stays attached to their permanent academic identity.
Do all proceedings papers receive a DOI?
That is up to your committee. DOI registration is contracted for the proceedings, not sold per paper: when an edition includes it, every accepted paper in that edition gets a Crossref DOI, and Galoá handles the registration and the metadata deposit as a Crossref Sponsoring Member since 2015. Editions published without DOIs still give each paper a permanent, citable page in the repository.
