7 things your scientific event's website needs
A website is the best way to present and promote your scientific event. The doubt, most of the time, is what content to put on it. So here is our list of the essential information:
- Important dates: in short, present the event’s timeline.
- History: if there are previous editions, a brief account of them is always inviting to new participants.
- Program: a quick, easy view of everything happening at the event: talks, short courses, exhibitions, and the rest. Program at a glance.
- Registration and submissions: a description of fees by participant category, including whether papers can be submitted and how they will be presented (oral or poster). This section can also carry the presentation guidelines: formatting, room, day, and time.
- Venue: the organization should look after the information participants need around the event itself: lodging, transportation to the venue, and a brief review of the city, with food, tourism, and hotel suggestions.
- Contact page: it is extremely useful to reserve a dedicated email address and a phone number for questions and suggestions.
- Sponsors: do not forget the people who help and believe in the event. Display your sponsors’ logos, and use the space to invite new organizations to invest in science.
Does your event’s website already carry all of this? With the Galoa platform, managing your scientific event’s website is part of the same place that runs the rest of the event.
Your event's website, without building it from scratch
The Galoa platform carries your scientific event end to end: the website, the call for papers, registration, peer review, and the proceedings at the end.
